The Conti Loop is a great intermediate trail and forms the heart of the club’s trails in the valley. Watch out for Killer Downhill and ride within your abilities. Why not link in Mangold Traverse to extend the trail to 3rd Ave, or link in WGC traverse to head out to Settlers park. This is the best of the Baakens… enjoy!

The WGC Traverse offers some of the most awesome single track in the Baakens! From the Dormy Place river crossing to the flowing single track it is well worth incorporating this section into your ride. Be careful on the trail as there are a few bridge crossings and very steep drop offs into the valley. Tracks that turn off and lead down into the valley are for advanced riders… proceed with caution! The 9th Ave traverse is well worth doing if you are a capable rider!

The Mangold Traverse Is a useful trail that links the Conti Loop and 3rd avenue dip. Officially it leads you out towards 3rd Ave along the concrete track from the Pump House (bottom of killer downhill). Remember to hang a right at Dorothy Ave, if you hit tar road you missed it 🙂 After the right turn there is some really awesome Single Track all the way to 3rd Avenue. Be careful of the concealed bridge and remember it is two-way traffic! Watch out for other cyclists, walkers and trail runners on this section.
