Race through the Baakens Valley!

The annual FatTracks Baakens Bash will kick off on Sunday, 19 November!

Entries for this family-friendly Mountain Biking Event are NOW OPEN.

Fat Tracks Mountain Bike Club has been hard at work building, maintaining, and restoring the tracks in Gqeberha’s Baakens Valley. Now it’s time to put them to the test.

Bring the family and enjoy one of the most accessible, fun, and family-friendly MTB events in the country.

There are three race distances, catering for complete newbies to the seasoned pros. PLUS, the event is held in support of our Baakens Valley neighbour, the Aurora Special Care Centre.

There will be stalls for eats and treats afterwards.

Entry fees and distances are as follows:

19km – R200 (8+ years)
12km -R160 (8+ years)
4km – R80 (All ages)

CSA licenses are not required for this race as race distances are less than 20km.

Riders 12 years and younger to be accompanied by an adult entered into the race.

The programme of events is as follows:

  • Registration: Saturday 18 November from 8:00 to 9:00 at the Fat Tracks Containers
  • Registration: Sunday 19 November from 7:00 to 10:00 at the Fat Tracks Containers on William Moffatt

Race start times on Sunday 19 November 2023: 

  • 08h30 – 19km E-bikes
  • 09h00 – 19km MTB
  • 09h15 – 12km MTB
  • 10h30 – 4km MTB
  • 11h00 – Prize giving & lucky draws

 

ONLINE ENTRIES CLOSE: Midnight on Wednesday 15 November 2023

Late entries are available at registration on Saturday and Sunday. A late entry fee of R60 applies to all entries received after close of online entries.
