Why are memberships so important?
Your member fee is a vital contribution towards the constant maintenance, upgrades, and new trails in the Baakens Valley. Please encourage other users to join the club or donate towards the upkeep.
Every member helps contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the valley trails.
The Valley Trails are maintained solely by FatTracks and funded by some generous sponsors and our annual fees.
Our committee is also manned by dedicated volunteers who try their best to ensure the over 400 members enjoy accessible trails.
While FatTracks does offer member benefits, this is not meant to be equal to the fees paid
If that were the case, then FatTracks would have no funds left for the work we do in the valley, or any of the events that we organise.
For an individual member, the annual fee of R825 works out to around R85/month.
Which is less than two cappuccinos. Or around the same as three loaves of bread.
Benefiting all
The club supports the greater good by ensuring that one of our city’s most spectacular resources is looked after – for the benefit of all users.
By keeping the trails accessible, the valley gets more ‘traffic’ from riders, walkers, birders, hikers etc… this in turn makes it safer and more of an asset to the City.
We also use our funds to repair bridges and trails when storms wash them away.
This is why member benefits are not the primary reason for joining FatTracks. It’s about being part of a bigger picture, and doing something that helps make our City a better place.
No CSA day license fees:
