Battle of the Bikes: Inter Provincial MTB event

ANNOUNCEMENT BY NORTHERN CAPE CYCLING FEDERATION:

We are thrilled to extend our invitation to all mountain bike enthusiasts to participate in “The Battle of the Bikes,” a thrilling and family oriented Inter Provincial Mountain biking event.

After the successful Inter Provincial event between the Northern Cape and Freestate last year, which saw Freestate claiming the title, we are excited to announce that this year’s Battle of the Bikes will incorporate all the provinces across South Africa.

Event Details:

• Date: 07 October 2023
• Time: Starting at 07:00 am
• Venue: Landboudal High School, Jacobsdal
• Route: Historical Battlefields between Kimberley and Bloemfontein

“The Battle of the Bikes” will be sanctioned by the Cycling South Africa (CSA), ensuring the highest standards of organization, safety, and fairness throughout the event.

“The Battle of the Bikes” offers a picturesque and challenging experience for all participants. It is open to solo riders who wish to partake with a mountain bike. We have introduced various age categories to ensure inclusivity and fair competition across different age groups.

As a participant, you will receive a race medal, and podium finishers will have the opportunity to win from our generous prize purse. Waterpoints along the route will be adequately stocked, and professional photographers will capture your best moments. Moreover, professional medical support will be available throughout the event.

Registration Fees:

• 82km Solo – R400 per person
• 51km Solo – R350 per person
• 29km Solo – R250 per person

Please note that the registration deadline is 2 October 2023.

Event registration will take place at Landboudal High School on 6 October 2023, between 17:00 and 20:00.
