The Oudtshoorn Youth Festival features a road race, criterium race and MTB XCO race. On the last day of the event, a development BMX competition will be added to expose riders to this discipline. This event will however NOT count towards the Youth Festival competition.

The emphasis is on mass participation, and creating an opportunity for all riders under the age of 19 to compete against others from all over the country. The focus is on team and province, not on the individual! All events are structured in a way that points are awarded to every participant.
