Midyear update – Latest developments

Fathers day weekend & lunch special for FatTracks members!
Are you ready? CAM Series starts 1 August

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to the FatTracks get together at BruBar on Wednesday, 26 June!

Great fun was had, and it was fantastic to get to know some of the FatTracks members a little better. Looking forward to seeing you all out on the trails.

A quick overview for those who weren’t able to be there:

CAM Series

The CAM series will start in August and run over a 3-month period. All tracks will be in the Valley… keep a lookout for more info on this on our social media platforms and on the website.

Valley Chix Ride! – Join us again this Saturday

Nine awesome ladies braved the weather on Saturday 22 June and joined Dee in the Valley for a fantastic ride which took around an hour (10km).

Everybody was very enthusiastic so we had a great ride rolling down Inferno, up through the forest to Crank-It and round the Contour path. Craig Galway first scouted the route for us and then patiently rode at the tail end which was much appreciated. There will be loads more rides in the future, keep a lookout on the communication channels for updates.

Baakens Bash

In partnership with Continental, FatTracks is proud to announce the Baakens Bash race which will take place on 15 September this year. This exciting race will take place on home ground, in the Valley and will showcase the trails, and MTB opportunities right in the middle of our awesome City.

New Valley Route

Our tireless trails team have been hard at work putting together a brand new route in the Valley. This is a ‘downhill only’ route which will include jumps, twists, and gap jumps. It will be rideable for all levels, with the Inferno route becoming the ‘introduction’ to the new downhill route. We’re still deciding on a name, so suggestions are welcome!

Crazy Dave’s

The end is in sight. Over 200 TONS of aggregate has been brought in and manually sieved. The latest rains have not affected the work that has been done, and everything has held up well. The end result promises to be spectacular. Thank you again for all of your patience and investment into MTB in the Eastern Cape. It will be well worth it.

FatTracks Membership

We’re aiming for 1000 members by the end of the year. As of the end of June, we’re at 741! Share the passion, and get your friends and family to join us, and become part of the MTB revolution in Port Elizabeth!
